As you can see from the above not much is known about Richard, due to poor Irish records. His children's marriage certificates give his name and that his occupation was described as a Contractor on Arthur's in 1876 and as a House Agent on Caroline's in 1860.

House Agent usually referred to those engaged in the buying and selling of homes, whether this an accurate description of his occupation in Ireland is difficult to know.

There are some additional records of a Richard Corry - a marriage record of Richard CORRY and Margaret DUNNE in 1869 and a marriage certificate recording the marriage of a Lucy Corry in 1862 whose father was Richard Corry, both giving the fathers occupation as House Painter. He is shown as a widower so this must be at least his second marriage.

At present however it is not certain that the Richard Corry, father of Caroline and Arthur and the Richard CORRY, father of Lucy and husband of Margaret, is the same person. There are some factors that make it possible:

• Lucy CORRY's age at marriage was "Minor" - which I assume means that she was at least 16 but under 21. That would give her a birth date of around 1845. This right between Caroline's birth in 1838 and Arthur's in 1851
  

• Richard CORRY's second marriage in 1862 would have given his age as around 40 - a feasible age.

If this is the same man then his father is George CORRY my Great Great Great Grandfather a pity about the If!
